Independent Mobility & Rehab are collaborating with KCare and Healthcare Innovations Australia to create an educational opportunity for Occupational Therapists in Newcastle/Hunter and New England area.

The morning workshop will be presented by KCare’s Operations and Sales Product Development Manager, Ian Mortimer.

The afternoon workshop will be presented by the Business Development Manager, Mike O’Brien for Healthcare Innovations Australia.

Content Overview

The KCare workshop will cover a range of mobile shower commodes, options and accessories in conjunction with scripting and customising mobile shower commodes for clients with high end needs. Included in the presentation will be an introduction to scripting, order forms and customisation.

The Healthcare Innovations Australia workshop will include clinical themes such as shear reduction, pressure care, pressure mapping and positioning. Focus will be on the Shear Comfort range, Varilite range, Tarta range and Raft.
Ian MORTIMER – K Care Healthcare Solutions

With over 45 years experience in manufacturing healthcare equipment, Ian has specialised in the design and manufacture of orthotic appliances, manual and powered wheelchairs, specialised seating and custom mobility solutions for people with disabilities.

Ian’s current role with within K Care includes the design and manufacture of custom equipment and the development of future shower commode models.

Mike O’BRIEN – Healthcare Innovations Australia

Mike is an experienced equipment specialist, with over 12 years working directly with assistive technology equipment and end users. As a qualified Industrial Designer, he has an understanding of the user and ergonomics, with a technical and design grounding of equipment and materials.

He has worked extensively with mobility, seating and positioning, pressure care and shear reduction and applies this to his role as BDM with Healthcare Innovations Australia.
